5 Tips for Boosting Confidence in the Bedroom
Boosting confidence in the bedroom doesn’t come naturally to a lot of people. It can be daunting to become vulnerable with another person and can make you feel uncomfortable and rigid. However, this can come down to not feeling completely confident in yourself when it comes to being in the bedroom with your partner.
If you’re tired of not feeling low and are wanting to boost your confidence in the bedroom, here are five tips on how to ramp it up in the bedroom:
Communicate with your partner:
Being open and honest with your partner about your likes and dislikes can be a lot more effective than you may think. It can feel slightly awkward at first, but open communication is key to boosting your confidence in the bedroom. Couples should be honest about their intimacy, especially if one is experiencing low confidence in or outside the bedroom. Especially for women, feeling comfortable and completely relaxed can boost your confidence when it comes to sex. Talking about intimacy can also make you realise your likes and dislikes, which will enhance your sex life.
Know yourself:
To become more confident in the bedroom with your partner, you need to understand what you like yourself by self-pleasure. For women, this can feel slightly taboo because of how society has deemed it inappropriate for women to discuss, however, it’s completely normal to want to explore your own sexuality and talk about it with your partner. In fact, it’s healthy!
It’s also important to know your limits, such as whether you feel as though you may suffer from vaginal dryness or erectile dysfunction which can cause problems with intimacy. There is no shame in such matters and there are plenty of treatment options out there, such as erectile dysfunction medication, the O-Shot or the P Shot.
Try something new:
Educate yourself about intimacy, sexual health, and techniques to use in the bedroom. Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and try new things. You can learn more about things that you do like and lengthen that scope, or try something completely new and branch out.
Confidence outside the bedroom:
To have confidence in the bedroom, you have to feel confident in yourself outside of the bedroom, too. Try and work on ways to feel more comfortable and confident in yourself, such as taking more pride in your appearance, exercising and eating well, taking time out of the day for self-care, or even just making sure you relax at the end of the day. Feeling more comfortable and happy with yourself will lead to you feeling more confident in the bedroom.
Make sure you’re relaxed:
When it comes to being in the bedroom, it can sometimes feel overwhelming especially if you are not completely confident in yourself or comfortable with who you’re with just yet. For women especially, being relaxed when in the bedroom with a partner can make the biggest difference to whether you have a good time or not. Try practicing relaxation methods such as deep breathing or mindfulness to help lessen anxiety and boost confidence.
