While HSR Yunli is a pretty good tank type, her damage-dealing abilities pale in comparison to other DPS types. This doesn’t necessarily make her a worse DPS type, though. She just has a different skill set, and if you can master her healing and counter attacking abilities, one might even consider her on par with the more popular DPS types, even if her damage might be lower.

Some people might disagree, but we believe that Honkai Star Rail Yunli is a better tank than she is a DPS. As such, we recommend against making her the main DPS for your team; rather, give her a support role where she has more attacking freedom than a traditional tank but also someone with more destructive prowess than her. This will ensure you get the best of both worlds and create an interesting synergy in your team where your main DPS’s attacks will be supported by Yunli’s counter attacking blasts.
